Vision Systems Programmer

Pyramid Imaging, Tampa, Florida is seeking a highly motivated contract employee to develop embedded vision systems targeting exciting machine vision applications, including real time image processing and analysis used in government, commercial and scientific applications.

As a Vision Systems Engineer you will be responsible for applying mathematical, software and design engineering skills to design and develop embedded vision as part of a system engineering team in the Pyramid Imaging organization.

Not only will you work in a rapid learning environment, alongside industry experts; our customers. You will also work in collaboration with our customers using algorithms through highly optimized embedded FPGA implementations. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to understand complex vision algorithms, as well as a fluency in programming languages such as OpenCV to develop and deliver highly innovative machine vision systems.

Technologies are moving rapidly as are market needs. The right candidate will be excited and energized by these dynamic challenges.

The successful candidate will increasingly gain direct visibility of the impact of their work and directly drive business success. This includes frequent customer interaction, and demonstration of solutions at key trade shows.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with strategic customers to develop and deliver embedded vision algorithmic benchmarks and solutions, demonstrating the value of the FPGA solution.
  • Develop optimized OpenCV reference platforms for broad distribution of embedded vision solutions.
  • Customer enablement: Support strategic customer development using FPGA development tools.
The successful candidate's minimum qualifications will include the following:

  • BS in Engineering.
  • Strong programming skills (e.g. C/C++).
  • Technical knowledge and appreciation of hardware concepts.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Computer Vision, Video Processing.
  • Although not required, Candidates with experience in FPGA, VHDL and related design flows are desirable.
  • You should be a self-starter with good problem solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to apply sound judgement.
